At WCH, we believe in building healthcare legacies—and every legacy starts with a bold step forward. Meet Salam, one of our newest franchisees, who is bringing his entrepreneurial spirit to Queens, New York. In this exclusive Q&A, Salam shares how his background, training experience, and future goals are shaping his journey as a WCH franchise owner.

Tell us about yourself and your background.

I come from a diverse professional background, with a Master’s degree from North Carolina A&T and over seven years of experience in marketing. In my previous roles, I was recognized as a top representative in financial services and successfully led an expansion in the transportation industry. I’ve always been drawn to building businesses that make a real impact.

What drew you to medical billing franchising?

The medical billing industry is a vital part of the healthcare ecosystem—and it’s only growing. I was drawn to WCH’s franchise opportunity because it combined:

  1. A stable and expanding market
  2. Strong income potential
  3. The ability to own my own business
  4. The flexibility to manage my schedule
  5. Comprehensive training and support from WCH

Why did you choose WCH?

WCH’s reputation speaks for itself. But what really stood out was their hands-on training program and the strength of their support network. As someone based in Queens, I appreciated having access to local corporate support. I knew I wasn’t just joining a franchise—I was joining a team that would invest in my growth.

How has your training experience been so far?

It’s been exceptional. The training is well-structured and thorough, covering everything from billing systems to industry regulations. The trainers are seasoned professionals who not only teach the material but share practical insights from their own careers. The IT team has also been fantastic—getting us set up and confident with the software.

What aspects of the training have you found most valuable?

The trainers’ real-world experience is what sets this program apart. Their insights helped me connect the dots between theory and practice—how to manage clients, avoid common errors, and run day-to-day operations smoothly.

How would you describe the WCH training team’s responsiveness?

They’re proactive, always available, and genuinely invested in our success. Whether it's through phone calls, emails, or in-person sessions, their communication has been seamless. Their support builds confidence and credibility—both of which are crucial in this business.

What kind of challenges do you anticipate as you grow your franchise?

Like any business, there will be challenges:

  1. Staying compliant with changing healthcare regulations
  2. Acquiring and retaining clients
  3. Adapting to new technology
  4. Managing finances and hiring the right team
  5. Scaling operations sustainably

But with WCH behind me, I’m confident I can tackle them head-on.

What ongoing support do you expect from WCH?

WCH offers exactly what a new franchise owner needs:

  1. Continued education and training
  2. Marketing tools and outreach guidance
  3. Operational advice and best practices
  4. A connected network of fellow franchisees for collaboration and mentorship

What excites you most about this journey?

This is more than a business—it’s a mission. I’m excited to:

  1. Help healthcare providers streamline their operations
  2. Grow professionally in a booming industry
  3. Harness technology to deliver high-quality service
  4. Build lasting client relationships
  5. Reach financial freedom through entrepreneurship
